Flame The 6th

Fusemix: When and how did you first become interested in music?

Flame:I grew up with older family members who introduced me to the Hip Hop culture and Rap Music. I instantly fell in love with it and wanted to make music of my own.

FM:How long have you been doing Christian music?
FL:14 years.

FM: Who are your musical influences?
FL:Thi’sl, Leeland, Casting Crowns, Lecrae, and shai linne.

FM:You just released a hot and amazing album, "The 6th." Tell us more about it?
FL:Why thank you! “The 6th” is a study of anthropology from a Christian worldview. I explored who we are, who God created us to be, how we’ve fallen from that place, and how through Christ we can return back to God’s original intentions for humanity. It takes you on a musical excursion and a theological journey.

FM:Why did you name it "The 6th" and how did you come up with the cover concept?
FL:The Bible states that on the 6th day God created mankind, the climax of His creation. Aiming to explore anthropology I thought it was only fitting to name the album after that glorious day. The album cover was designed by Barton from Already Been Chewed. He pulled together major images that depict our human experience. I simply communicated the concept of the album to him and he made magic happen!

FM: You have a track named "Show Out." What is the song about?
FL:The song “Show Out” is all about bragging on Jesus’ earthly ministry. He is the One who can save fallen humanity and rescues people from doom. He is the perfect example of God’s original intentions form humanity. As stated on my verse. “Jesus stepped on the scene, showed up on the cross, showed out when he rose, He did both for the lost.”

FM: How was is it working with Lecrae, Thi'sl, V.Rose, Young Noah & DecemebeRadio on this album?
FL:It was a complete joy! Each person brought their unique A game to the record and made it a success.

FM: How did you first connect with Lecrae and DecembeRadio ?
FL:I’ve been knowing Lecrae for years. He is my genuine friend. I connected with DecembeRadio at a Billy Graham event where we co-headlined.

FM: Did you have one of those moments that "It had to be God" while working on the project?
FL:Indeed! We ran into a few bumps in the road while finalizing the record and to watch it all come together with the rave reviews isdefinitely evidence of God’s grace. So many things went wrong during the making of the album. We went through various tests and trials along the way that when it hit #1 on iTunes, my whole team and I were definitely saying “It had to be God!”

FM: What is special about the song "Let Go"?
FL:That song is the culmination of the entire album. After building my case the immediate responsibility is to let go and surrender to God. Its catchy and feels good.

FM: What is your favorite track off the new album and why?
FL:Ahh, that’s a tough one. Each track is dear to me and relevant to the concept of the album. I really don’t know! If I had to pick, I would say “Great Deception” and “Devil’s Bread.” My wife loves “Caught in the Lights,” “Running,” and “Try Me.”

FM: What do you like to do for fun outside of working on music?
My wife and I love to watch movies.

FM: Do you have advice for young people who want to become music producers or rappers?
FL:Continue to commit your way to the Lord Jesus and His word. Learn your craft well. Learn the music business. Be content with whatever measure of exposure God gives you. My pastor once told me, “Worry about the depth of your ministry and let God handle the breadth.”

FM: How can fans-to-be gain access to your music?
FL:They can go to iTunes, my website ClearSightMusic.com, Christian book stores, Walmarts, etc.

FM: Do you have any last words you would love to share with our readers?
FL:Thanks you for your prayers and support! Follow me on twitter: @Flame314. Subscribe to my Facebook at facebook.com/Flame314. Love Jesus, love people, and hate sin.
