Artists from Britain’s Gospel and CCM communities got together at the legendary Abbey Road studios in London recently, to record a charity single in aid of Haiti.

The song ‘Somebody Please’ was written by Israel Houghton and British worship leader Noel Robinson. Some 250 singers assembled at Abbey Road (which is famous amongst music fans as the place where the Beatles recorded all their hits) for the day-long recording session and video shoot.

Artists featured on the single include Tim Hughes, Graham Kendrick, and the London Community Gospel Choir. The single was produced by Les Moir and Lawrence Johnson – both of whom were responsible for producing a similar charity single five years ago, in response to the 2004 tsunami disaster.

The single’s release date is the 27th of April, and funds raised from it will go to Compassion International and to rebuild the Wesleyan Hospital in La Gonave, Haiti.
