TULSA, OKLAHOMA - June 25, 2010 After numerous attempts over the years, the Christian Hip-Hop industry finally has a show all its own: WAY TV, giving the Christian hip-hop a national platform. Currently the show has received syndication in many cities throughout the United States and airs on Sky Angel. This week the show is premiering nationwide on Direct TV channel 363 which reaches into over 7 million homes.
WAY TV, which stands for “Who Are You?” provides artists an outlet to reach the world through hip-hop. The show's purpose is to promote those who promote Christ through the art form of hip-hop. Artists such as Kirk Franklin, Canton Jones, Group Crew, KJ52, Jai, J.R. and The 116 Clique have already been a part of making WAY TV's first two seasons strong. The founders of WAY TV are determined to keep the show devoted to Christian hip-hop. In order keep up with the art form's international reach, plans are in place to take the show international.
The Christian Hip Hop industry has proven to be a difficult independent market that many have attempted to promote through television, but have come up against obstacles such as obtaining quality music videos, funding, and support. However, through hard work, grace and favor WAY TV is successfully beating the odds. Currently WAY TV is looking to fill advertisement slots, and obtain more programming opportunities and music videos.
