GUY PENROD
NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Servant Records/Gaither Music Group recording artist Guy Penrod is celebrating a milestone 2010 which included the release of his best-selling solo debut; unprecedented multi-format radio success; numerous sold-out tour dates in the United States and abroad; and combined sales of more than 80,000 units.

Produced by Brent Rowan (Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton), Penrod’s solo recording debut, Breathe Deep, debuted at #2 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Christian/Gospel-Christian retail chart following its February release.  For the year, Breathe Deep sold more than 48,000 units, according to SoundScan, while the 2010 re-release of The Best of Guy Penrod sold 32,000 combined CD and DVD units.  Since its original 2005 release, The Best of Guy Penrod has sold more than 275,000 combined CD and DVD units.

Breathe Deep achieved unprecedented multi-format radio success in 2010, with Penrod’s debut solo southern gospel single, “Maker Of Them All,” reaching #1, while his initial offering in the mainstream country marketplace, “Are You The One,” reached #54 on Billboard’s Country Indicator chart.  Penrod’s follow-up gospel single, the concert favorite “Knowing What I Know About Heaven,” is currently ascending southern gospel charts, while “Pray About Everything” has recently been serviced to country radio.

Penrod performed 82 concerts in 2010 including numerous sell-outs.  Along with friend Jason Crabb, he co-headlined the successful “2 Voices – 1 Message“ Tour, and was also well received in Europe where he performed 12 dates last summer.  In addition, Penrod appeared at CMA Music Fest, the National Quartet Convention, and Focus on the Family, among other prestigious venues.

Worldwide television audiences were also able to view Penrod last year on such leading telecasts as “The Hour of Power,” “100 Huntley Street” and “Inspiration Classics,” the latter series which he hosted.  In addition, the artist graced the covers of multiple publications, including Significant Living, Homecoming, Christian Voice and Power Source, while also appearing in the national newspaper inserts Parade and American Profile.

During his 14 years with the GRAMMY® and Dove Award-winning Gaither Vocal Band, Penrod performed before more than 5 million people on Bill & Gloria Gaither’s Homecoming Tours and was featured on Gaither television specials airing on multiple networks.  The Gaither Homecoming series and The Gaither Vocal Band sold more than 20 million CDs and DVDs while Penrod was a member.  Prior to joining the Vocal Band, Penrod was a highly sought-after studio singer in Nashville and appeared for three years on TNN’s popular “Music City Tonight” as a vocalist in the house band.

Penrod will continue a full touring schedule in 2011, including performances at churches, theatres and special events throughout the country.  This month, Penrod will be appearing in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Florida.  For a complete tour schedule and additional information, visit www.guypenrod.com.
