GUY PENROD CELEBRATES DOVE AWARD NOMINATIONS AS ‘PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING’ IMPACTS COUNTRY RADIO

NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Servant Records/Gaither Music Group recording artist Guy Penrod encourages country radio stations around the country to “Pray About Everything” as the Gospel Music Association lauds his 2010 acclaimed solo debut, Breathe Deep, with two Dove Award nominations.

Penrod’s best-selling recording has been nominated for a GMA Dove Award for Country Album of the Year, while the project’s debut single, “Are You The One,” penned by Tammy Hyler and Shaye Smith, receives a nod for Country Recorded Song of the Year.  Produced by Brent Rowan (Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton), Breathe Deep debuted at #2 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Christian/Gospel-Christian retail chart following its release last year and is approaching sales of 50,000 units.

2010 saw unprecedented multi-format radio success for Penrod, as his debut southern gospel single, “Maker Of Them All,” reached #1, while “Are You The One” hit #54 on Billboard’s Country Indicator chart.  Penrod’s latest single, “Pray About Everything,” is now impacting country radio, while the concert favorite “Knowing What I Know About Heaven” is currently ascending southern gospel charts.

In promotion of “Pray About Everything,” Penrod recently visited Nashville’s legendary WSM 650 AM to chat with Bill Cody.  He also appeared on historic Clear Channel/WLAC AM 1510’s “The Music Row Show,” which is syndicated in 28 states, and gave special acoustic performances of the single for the staffs of Country Weekly and Music Row magazines.

Since stepping away from a 14-year tenure with the GRAMMY® and Dove Award-winning Gaither Vocal Band, Penrod has celebrated a number of career milestones in the past year, including the release of Breathe Deep; success at both mainstream country and southern gospel radio formats; numerous sold-out tour dates in the United States and abroad; and such high profile appearances as CMA Music Fest and the National Quartet Convention.

The 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards will air on gmc Easter Sunday, April 24, at 7 and 9 pm EST.  For further information on Guy Penrod, visit www.guypenrod.com
