Chris Tomlin is a Top Dove Nominee with Six Nominations
Nashville, Tenn. Feb. 18, 2011… sixstepsrecords garnered 21 GMA Dove Award nominations at yesterday’s press conference for the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards, including recognition in key categories such as “Artist of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “New Artist of the Year.” The 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2010 at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theatre and will be televised nationwide on GMC (http://www.watchgmc.com/), Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 7-9p.m. EST. This year marks the first time the show has taken place outside Nashville in 40 years.
Platinum selling artist and worship leader Chris Tomlin was among the leaders in yesterday’s nominations taking home six nods including “Artist of the Year” and “Male Vocalist of the Year.” Tomlin’s “Our God,” found on both the double-nominated Passion: Awakening live album and his Nov. release of And If Our God Is For Us…, was recognized in both the “Song of the Year” and “Worship Song of the Year” categories. Tomlin is currently touring in support of his recently released And If Our God is For Us... project which ranked in at No. 17 on the Billboard Top 200 selling over 45,000 units in its first week.
