CANDY CHRISTMAS TO PERFORM AT ‘SUNDAY MORNING COUNTRY’ DURING CMA MUSIC FEST

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Award-winning gospel artist, author, and founder of The Bridge Ministry, Candy Christmas, will be among the featured performers at the 32nd Annual “Sunday Morning Country” Celebration to be held this Sunday, June 12 at 2:30 pm at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House. 

A tradition during the CMA Music Festival, formerly known as Fan Fair, this year’s “Sunday Morning Country” will be co-hosted by Linda Davis and George Hamilton IV.  With a theme of “Honoring Country Music Hall of Fame Legends and Their Favorite Gospel Songs,” other performers will include Roy Clark, Lynn Anderson, Marty Raybon, Lulu Roman, The Statler Brothers' Jimmy Fortune, and T. Graham Brown, along with 2011 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees Jean Shepard and Bobby Braddock.

The 2011 CMA Music Festival is expected to draw thousands of country music fans from around the world to downtown Nashville June 9-12.  Featuring performances by Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Reba and Rascal Flatts, among many others, the Festival gives fans a unique chance to not only hear but also meet some of country’s biggest stars.

Hailing from southern gospel’s legendary Hemphill family, Christmas is an acclaimed solo artist who has been featured in 23 Gaither Homecoming videos and has performed at numerous Gaither concert events.  Since 2004, her Bridge Ministry has served countless meals and conducted church services every Tuesday night under the Jefferson Street Bridge in downtown Nashville.  Christmas’ latest recording, On The Other Side, released last year, along with her book, On The Other Side – Life Changing Stories From Under The Bridge.  For further information, visit www.candychristmas.com or www.bridgeministry.org
