SINGAPORE, INDONESIA–Over the course of the last year, conversation events with groups of Christian leaders, scholars and next gens have taken place around the world with over 530 people from 54 different nations. The major thrust was a focus on the future of Spirit-empowered Christianity and how to engage new generations for Christ.

The culmination of these global conversations was the Empowered21 Global Congress on Holy Sprit empowerment held in Tulsa, OK in April of 2010.Over 10,000 people from over 96 nations attended the event in Tulsa. Generations connected, one ofthe broadest learning opportunities in the movement’s history was experienced and the face of Spiritfilled Christianity was turned toward the future.

Following the E21 Global Congress (www.empowered21.com) a series of global Empowered21 gatherings have been forming that will continue to help shape the future of the Spirit-empowered movement around the world. One such gathering will be conducted in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2011 to address issues specifically related to Asia.

The Empowered21 Asia Cabinet (see below) convened in Singapore last week to discuss the 2011 Asia Congress and begin execution. The Executive Cabinet is a select group of high level, influential leaders from across Asia who will serve to give spiritual and program oversight to the Empowered21 Asia Congress. Rev. Niko Njotorahardjo and Rev. Billy Wilson will co-chair the cabinet. Rev. Prince Guneratnam, Chair of the Pentecostal World Fellowship (the first Chair ever from outside of the United States) said, “I am so impressed at the spontaneity and unity of these leaders to have something like this happen even though we are coming from different Asian countries. This is a confirmation that the Holy Spirit is definitely giving His approval to the vision of what we are trying to

The Empowered21 Asia Congress will be used to address and inspire the future of the Spiritempowered movement throughout the continent. The Congress will involve leaders, scholars, and next generation participants from the region. The general public will be invited to attend. Pastor Dennis Balcombe, born and raised in California and Pastor of Hong Kong’s Revival Christian Church for 40 years, said, “Approximately 2/3 of the world’s population lives in Asia, including many of the largest unreached people groups. We have received the Holy Spirit that we might receive power to evangelize these nations. We thank the Lord for the vision of Empowered21 and the leaders to extend the vision to Asia. We believe that history will change, nations will change and lives will change as the Holy Spirit is poured out upon all the Asian peoples.”

Billy Wilson, Chair of Empowered21 Global Congress and Co-Chair of Empowered21 Asia Congress, said, “This first Empowered21 Asia Cabinet meeting was very exciting and productive. This was the first of the continental cabinets to meet and if this is any indication we are in a very unique moment when God is calling us to address the future and empower new generations. The Asian Congress will be amazing!”

The Empowered21 Asia Congress is slated for October 25-28, 2011 with the opening session on Tuesday night and concluding on Friday evening with a Commissioning service. This will give three full days to address the various future issues for Asia in learning conversation style. For more information please visit www.empowered21asia.com.
