Seattle, Wash. (Feb. 16, 2012) - Derek Hoiem, president of Save the City Records, has announced that Christian music industry veteran Chris Chicago has joined the company as Head of National Promotion.

Chicago, founder of Shamrock Media, has left his position as an independent promoter at Shamrock to join and exclusively represent Save the City Records full-time to national radio, overseeing promotion for Save the City artists, including Benjiman, Brandon Bee, Byron "Mr. Talkbox" Chambers, Circleslide, Kimber Rising, Jekob and The Washington Projects.

"We chose Chris Chicago to exclusively represent Save the City Records because of his reputation of solid promotion in Christian music, with a proven track record of delivering hits," Hoiem says, "Chris understands our vision for the label and already has been articulating it to stations across the country."

While at Shamrock, Chicago worked with many of Christian music's top artists, including Switchfoot, Natalie Grant, Casting Crowns, Third Day, Pillar, Red, Tenth Ave. North, Plumb, Leeland, Group 1 Crew, Beckah Shae, Lecrae, Among the Thirsty, Fireflight, Jars of Clay, Mikeschair, Newsboys and Rush of Fools.

In addition to successfully promoting many top singles on the Billboard Christian CHR and Rock charts, Chicago was responsible for a radio promotion milestone while promoting the band Red. Red made Radio & Records history as the first band in Christian Rock history to debut a song at No. 1 when the band's single "Fight Inside" was released in November 2008.

Chicago also hosts "HYPE Radio with Chris Chicago," the No. 1 syndicated Christian hip hop show, heard in more than 125 markets internationally.

"The heart of Save the City Records fits exactly with my own core values and beliefs, so getting a chance to work with Derek Hoiem and do ground-up ministry with him was something I couldn't pass up," says Chicago. "I have met only a handful of people in my life with the heart and passion that Derek has and I knew I had to work alongside him."

"Save the City Records selects artists who are 'the real deal' in their musical talent, in what they preach, and how they live," continues Chicago. "Those are the kinds of artists I want to work with and share with radio. I am super honored to be a part of the team at Save the City!"
