Los Angeles, CA, August 16, 2012 - Mayor Jean Quan will present actress Brély Evans, star of the highly anticipated film "Sparkle", with the key to The City of Oakland for her charitable contributions to bay area community and The Sharon Randolph Foundation, Saturday, August 18, 2012.
Evans will also host a "sold-out" private screening of "Sparkle" at Jack London Cinemas in Jack London Square. The event is part of Sparkle for a Cause fundraiser that also features an all White Party Affair at Geoffrey's Inner Circle. Proceeds from the screening and white party benefit the Sharon Randolph Foundation.
Brély, an Oakland native, will star in the upcoming film "Sparkle" alongside Jordin Sparks, Derek Luke and the late Whitney Houston. As the celebrity supporter for the Sharon Randolph Foundation, Brély is excited about the opportunity to share in their "Live and Not Die" initiative that promotes a healthy lifestyle through proper diet and exercise. Brély is also the new spokesperson for Jenny Craig and she is committed to change in her own life by getting healthy from the inside out. She not only talks the talk, but walks the walk.
