Nashville, TN (August 17, 2012) -- Emerging artist, LUKE DOWLER, is set to launch his sophomore project, Polarized, September 18th, with special pre-orders available now. Released in partnership with Dream Records/EMI, the album will be available for purchase online through iTunes, Amazon.com, Dowler's website and the Dream Records store, as well as regionally surrounding tour date and at live performances. Additionally, "Coming Alive," the first radio single from the project, is currently available on iTunes and the video for the title track debuted world-wide yesterday.
“I believe Jesus is polarizing because of the way he empowers people who don’t deserve it,” explains Dowler. “He is dangerous to the self-righteous and power hungry while giving hope life and love to the weak and poor. That’s the Jesus I want to know and sing about. That’s rock and roll.”
Special pre-order packages can be purchased now on Dowler’s website. Various levels of packages will be available, which will include a digital download of Polarized, a full length EP, exclusive tshirt design, International Justice Mission tshirt, backstage access at a concert on the upcoming Tour and even a live performance package. Visit www.lukedowler.com to find additional details and pricing information.
Also out now is the video for “Polarized,” the album’s title track. Directed by Dowler and guitarist, Mike Murray, and filmed in Northwest Montana, the video can be viewed here: www.bit.ly/ldPolarized
Dowler tells how the concept of the video came about: “We spent time with veteran Sasquatch hunters on tour. We spent three days fascinated and unable to talk about anything else. So on our way back from a short tour, we had this crazy idea that we could come up with a video, find a crew and upload it all in about a week’s time. Somehow it all came together.”
Polarized has already been received with great excitement and acclaim. The first radio single, “Coming Alive,” debuted on iTune’s “New and Noteworthy” list this week and is currently going for adds on CHR radio.
A few media outlets have weighed in with their review of the single and album as well:
"Polarized is full of alt rock sensibilities a-la Switchfoot or Needtobreathe, mixed with Dowler's gritty voice for an outcome loaded with huge anthems and intimate, emotional ballads." (Brooks Ginnan of www.christianrockrocks.com)
“’Coming Alive’ wastes no time getting to a huge hook and if this single is any indication, the full lengthPolarized should be quite the memorable record. Dowler’s faith is a big factor and influence in a record that is sure to cover a variety of current issues in a smart manner.” (www.iamtunedup.com)
“With penetrating guitars, personal, honest, and layered lyrics, as well as many different styles of music incorporated, ranging from acoustic ballads, to worship anthems to straight out rock tracks; Luke’s energetic and eclectic debut is full of imagery and metaphors; yet never wavering from the strong faith in Jesus Christ that he has. This artist is one to watch out for in the near future!” (www.ChristianMusicEzine.com)
Dowler plans to head out on the Won’t Burn Out Quiet Tour this Fall in support of the album. Currently, the Tour will be making stops in Seattle, LA, San Diego, Denver, Washington D.C., and Virginia Beach, with more dates being added daily. No stranger to the world of an artist, Dowler served as frontman for several groups, including ska band The Royal Rangers and rock foursome Three Minutes From Home, who later changed their name to Veteran Greene, before branching out to a solo career. He has toured the world, from Melborne to Montreal and traveled extensively across the U.S., sharing the stage with the likes of the Newsboys, Skillet, Audio Adrenaline, Petra and John Reuben, as well as performing large events such as Festival Con Dios, Creation Northwest, FreedomFest, HideoutFest and the Impact World Tour.
