Popular Blogger to Pen Nonfiction Releases
(Nashville, Tenn.) November 2012- Thomas Nelson, Inc. is pleased to announce the signing of popular blogger and podcaster Tsh Oxenreider to a two-book deal. Oxenreider’s initial release, Intention: Notes on the Quest to Savor Life, Enjoy the Kids, and Say No to Living Fast, is slated to debut in 2014.
Intention chronicles an exploration into what it means to live slowly and intentionally. It delves into whether we can live in western cultures the same way people can in more relationship-based cultures. Although not an anthropological study, it will seek to answer the question: “Can a family live slowly in a fast-paced culture?”
“The book draws mostly on my own family’s experience of returning to our home culture here in the States after having lived in Turkey,” notes Oxenreider. “Intention is vastly different from my previous books. This book is practical because readers can translate it into their own story, but it’s not a how-to book. Rather, this is a book of stories—stories of my family, with a few stories of others.”
“Tsh has an incredible way of connecting with readers in a very personal and open fashion, and has established a significant following,” says Brian Hampton, senior vice president and publisher for Thomas Nelson nonfiction. “Our publishing family is excited to share her stories and inspire others in living intentional lives of significance.”
Tsh Oxenreider is the editor of Simplemom.net and is the founder of Simple Living Media. She's a mom to three little ones, likes her coffee black, and thinks a library card, a Netflix subscription, and a passport are some of the greatest parenting tools in the universe. She has previously written two books: Organized Simplicity and One Bite at a Time.
Literary agent Jenni Burke of D.C. Jacobson & Associates negotiated the deal.
