ORLANDO   Grammy ® Award- nominated, Dove, Stellar, GMWA, NAACP Image Award-Winning Singer DOTTIE PEOPLES, performed in front of a sold-out crowd Saturday May 18th at the 2013 Fellowship Luncheon in Orlando, FL, which benefits the Odessa Chambliss Quality Of Life Fund. As the headlining performer at the event, Dottie Peoples and her incomparable music helped honor the life of Odessa Chambliss, nurse and matriarch of the Lucille O'Neal family and grandmother of famed basketball MVP, Shaquille O'Neal. Her battle with ovarian cancer inspired the inception of the Odessa Chambliss Quality Of Life Fund.

"As the oldest of 10 children and being blessed that my mother is still alive, it really touched my heart to see how Lucille O'Neal is keeping the memory of her mother alive through this foundation," reflects Peoples (pictured above right, with Lucille O'Neal). "The Odessa Chambliss Quality Of Life Fund helps so many people. Odessa blessed so many lives throughout her 16 year career as a nursing professional, and she is still bettering the lives of others today through her foundation. It was an honor to be a part of such a special event."

Proceeds from the foundation and Fellowship Luncheon directly benefit nursing students around the country, by helping them cover necessary educational materials not easily accessible via basic tuitions, and fund monetary scholarships for education and cancer research at institutions and facilities that identify an urgent need for assistance.

ABOUT ODESSA CHAMBLISS QUALITY OF LIFE FUND:

The Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund was established in memory of the O'Neal family's greatest matriarch who worked in the nursing profession for 16 years in the state of New Jersey. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1993, Odessa continued to work for as long as she was physically able, until her health began to decline in 1995. The fund provides grant supplementation for individuals pursuing a career in nursing, and assists those students who require incidentals such as medical supplies, laptop computers and necessities that are not accessible through basic tuitions.  Additionally, this fund provides monetary scholarships for education and cancer research at institutions and facilities that identify an urgent need for assistance.
