NASHVILLE, Tenn  - Legendary vocalist John Schlitt was the featured guest on a recent edition of Sirius XM's Jay Sekulow Live!, the popular radio talk show hosted by Jay Sekulow, a regular contributor to Fox News and Chief Counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), one of the most prestigious law firms in the country.

During the show, Schlitt candidly discussed his former drug and alcohol addiction and the day he became a Christian, as well as his current music ministry that takes him across the world. He shared with Sekulow's radio audience about his history in the music industry and ministry—from his early days as the lead singer of popular mainstream rock band Head East through his years as lead singer of Petra to today's current career accomplishments, including his upcoming plans to record his first-ever Christmas album. Schlitt currently is raising capital for the holiday project through Kickstarter, the popular crowd-funding platform. The Kickstarter deadline is 2 p.m. E.D.T., Saturday, June 8.

In an exciting development on the day of the Jay Sekulow Live! radio broadcast, Schlitt's Kickstarter campaign reached its funding goal of $35,000 within hours after the vocalist and Sekulow were on the air.

"It was great having my friend John Schlitt on the broadcast," Sekulow said. "In the past, we have enjoyed having John sing with our Jay Sekulow Live! band, and thousands of people have viewed the videos of John and our band. We are excited about John's Kickstarter project and encourage our friends and members to support the project."

To-date, Schlitt's Kickstarter campaign has raised 104 percent of its goal, with more than 345 funding partners. With five days left until the official deadline, contributions are still being accepted. Any contributions over the goal will be used for additional related and necessary expenses, such as packaging and marketing for the new Christmas CD.

Schlitt's interview can be heard at the ACLJ archives at aclj.org/radio-tv. Jay Sekulow Live!, airs at noon E.T. daily on Sirius XM Family Talk 131, as well on specific stations across the U.S. For a complete list of stations and times, visit www.aclj.org/radio-tv/schedule.
